It all started with frustrations around backups. It was 2007 and Ronan wrote a module to make his life easier as he pushed databases around between sites and environments. He shared it with the world later that year and—as it turns out—others had the same needs. Backup and Migrate took off and is now one of the top 20 modules in Drupal, running on well over 100,000 sites.

NodeSquirrel is an extension of Backup and Migrate that makes it simple to safely store your backups. It has been brought to life by Ronan and the rest of the Gorton Studios team.
